Andy's classes will consist of improv comedy games, exercises and scene work.

It will stress character development and encourage looking for humor in the situation and character.

Good for actors, writers, stand-ups, or anyone looking to be more spontaneous and to learn to think on their feet.

Class Objective:

To learn the fundamentals of performing improv comedy; to use it to enhance your acting, auditioning and writing skills. To learn to create spontaneous humor without trying to be funny. To create several comedic characters for your bag of tricks.


Improv Comedy by your instructor is required reading. It is available Online.

Make a list of emotions or attitudes

Go see improv groups perform.

The Four Basic Rules:

Don't deny.

Show us, don't tell us. (Take the active choice)

Play the moment. (Don't plan too much ahead and LISTEN!)

Play the scene legitimately. (Humor comes out of the situation, Be real)

Rule 5: Don’t try to be funny.
